The sights were soldered on and it is not unusual for them to be missing. They were knocked off very easily. There could be some various other stampings on the stock maybe behind the trigger guard or in front of the butt plate. There is usually a crown on the rear of the lock. Do a search for 1853 Enfield and all sorts of sites will come up.
