Well, I have lost any respect I ever had for Glenn Beck. Does he not do any research before he opens his mouth? During and after the war, and by no less than Sherman, Forrest was cleared of any charges at Fort Pillow. After the war, he treated blacks as anyone else. He hired them in responsible positions on his railroad, and spoke before the forerunner of the NAACP. Rather than starting the KKK, he was instrumental in disbanding it in 1871, because it was too violent, a subject upon which he was an expert.
