Wassom and Mayberry are both wearing roller-buckle waist belts.
Wasson is holding a converted model 1816 smoothbore 69 caliber musket. These were most common especially in southern armories early war. The second weapon appears to be a civilian single shot boot pistol of sorts. Many such additional variety of weapons found in period photos were typically photographers props, such as pistols, knives etc.
Rogers has a revolver in his belt, most likely also a photo prop. Unfortunately not enough of the weapon and clarity is visible to determine what make-model it might be. Its outline is similar to the Colt revolvers, but there were about a dozen or more folks making revolvers very similar to the Colt at the time.
The image of Mayberry most likely originated from an actual photograph. It was a common habit in the 1880-1910 era or so to have enlargements or copies made of an existing photo. These are usualy found much larger than the normal photo of the day. The method used basicly made another photo of the original photo. Unfortunately the result was rather grainy, cloudy, low contrast, and the details significantly washed out in the process. Normally an artist who would touch up the new image drawing in, redefining the outlines and features that typically gave the new image the impression it was a drawing rather than a photograph. These frequently would be found tinted to add some color into it as well, such as face, uniform and buttons/insignias, that might or might not reflect what was originally present.
