1817 Common Rifle with Belgian alteration

Gentlemen,

I have a 1817 Common Rifle from Deringer made 1843 that has the Belgian (arsenal) percussion alteration. It still has its original deep grooved .54 inch barrel. Are there any informations about this alteration (number, year, arsenal etc.) and the ammunition used (still ball and patches or MiniƩ ball?). I only know from the Maddaus book that there were some Common rifles altered in 1862/1863 by Leman with the Leman patent breech screw. I presume that the Belgian alteration was made earlier in the 1850ies. All informations welcome.

Best,

Marc
