Brooks (was a lieutenant in the 19th Iowa here at Prairie Grove and was wounded after saving the regimental colors, his uniform having 18 bullet holes through it. He was the brother of Joseph Brooks of Brooks-Baxter War fame). Was KIA at Big Creek near Helena.
