Some soldiers listed in CSR Arkansas Miscellaneous, e.g. Frank A. Peters and John Wann, are shown as belonging to Austin's Battery which, in turn, is also referred to as Company B, Shoup's Battalion. At Shiloh, Shoup's Battalion comprised Calvert's ,Trigg's and Hubbard's Batteries. It seems possible that Trigg's Battery (occasionally referred to as the Austin Artillery)became Austin's sometime in May 1862, probably in the reorganisations at Corinth. Austin's Battery was disbanded in July 1862. I can't track Trigg's movements however before he reappears in the TM Dept., presumably commanding a new battery.
