When approximately 5,000 Confederate soldiers surrendered at Jacksonport on june 5, 1865. I could not find many particulars about the surrender, but one source mentioned that the Union soldiers fed the Confederates, most of whom had no rations. Does anyone know what the surrendering Confederates were fed? Any details would help. Joe W. Smith
