Dr. Peyton R Pittman purchased the W. Hix ferry around 1812. He operated the ferry for well of 25 years. The Community of Pittman developed around his property. There was a E. Pittman who donated property in the town, and was involved in a lot of civic enterprises. The Ferry is located Near Supply, Arkansas in Randolph County. I will keep researching for you.
