Thanks for responding. I have read the thesis. It only mentions that the companies consolidated after Helena (July to Sep. 1863), with Co. D (my ancestor's) merging with Co. E. I haven't found a list of men in the consolidated companies, so am still unclear why he is listed with Co. K in Glenn's Rgmt. in Feb. 1864, Camden, AR. Co. K didn't exist any more after the consolidation.
