Originally it was a Price's Missouri flag. I have a friend who has a letter written by a member who drew it in colored pencil. Definately the Price Missouri flag...but these Arkansas men didn't like it much as he stated. When they finally got rid of Col Shaler they probably changed it but I have no info or proof of that. They didn't like Shaler and he didn't like them much. He was a Missourian and forced the flag on them I guess. For sure after they consolidated with the 38th Arkansas (Shaver's) they probably served under a 2nd National most likely. Two of these were picked up at Jenkins Ferry by Union forces so they were in use.
