Re: 2nd Arkansas Infantry company E

Found he and his wife and children and the dad John and mom Priscilla living in Bradley County. AR in 1860. The other Hamilton’s lived a bit north in Franklin township, Saline County which is now Grant County. The 2 nd AR Inf was mainly those men of the 11th AR who were absent when the regiment was captured April 8,1862 at Tiptonville, Tn along the Miss River. Most returned to the 11th in Aug-sept after its release from prison. After Battles of Jackson, and Clinton La, the 11th and 17th Ark Mounted Infantry fought mostly in southern and central Miss with forays into east Louisiana. They were included in surrender at Citronela AL but most were in vicinity of Jackson, MS where they surrendered.
