A Severe and Bloody Fight
Hooker’s Cavalry Co-organized Jacksonport 11/61-reorg 2/62 adding more men-6/15 dismtd and formed into Co’s C and D of 32nd Ark infantry

Co C was organized June 15, 1862, at Camp Cache. It was originally composed of part of Capt Richard Hooker’s Cav Co. Its original officers were: William P. Anderson, Capt; J.M. Siddall, 1st Lieutenant; & George R. Barnes & Christopher Y. Steen, 2d Lieutenants.

Co D was organized June 15, 1862, at Camp Cache composed mostly of men in the vicinity of Tupelo (Ark). It was originally composed of part of Capt Richard Hooker’s Cav Co. Its original officers were: John Bland, Capt; Elijah M. Shettlesworth, 1st Lieutenant; & William P. Eason & J.R. Jelks, 2nd Lieutenants. Capt Bland was killed April 1, 1864
