4/27/65 Col Crawford to wife, camp on Red River 27 miles from Shreveport
5/26/65 Col Crawford to wife, camp on Trinity River, Navarro Co, Tex-…appears our cause is lost…we are here awaiting what is to be the result in this Dept. The Tex Cav has been disbanded; the Infy is yet held together. A great many of our Cav has deserted. I am waiting orders on what to do with the men yet with me. I think they will be disbanded in a few days. The Mo Cav is going to Mexico
