The following is regarding the 10th Texqas Infantry Regiment taken from my personal notes. My notes aren't clear on the source, but I would guess it is from:

Harlan Letters - Confederate Research Center, Hill Jr. College, Hillsboro, Texas

On 7/17/62 & 7/18/62 seven entire Co's of the [10th Texas Infantry] Regt threatened to mutiny & desert complaining of hard discipline & inactivity. Lt Col Mills [10th Tex] made a speech & most of the men returned to duty, but 40-50 held out to the last. These were arrested & taken to Little Rock where Hindman threatened to have every 10th man shot if they did not return to duty. This seemed to work & the Tex returned to their commands the next day.
Pvt Isaiah Harlan of Co G attributed this mutiny to the fact they were camped among Ark troops, most of whom were said to be dissatisfied. Whatever the motive, the Infy men returned to duty & averted a showdown

Desertions continued to be a problem & on 8/1 Nelson ordered the execution of 4 soldiers convicted of repeated desertion; & 10 days later he had another 5 men executed.
