Damon, Danny: The Lt. Colonel was Samuel J. McGuffin (not McGriffin), born circa 1832 KY, died July 10, 1917 Batesville. He was a saddler in Independence County in 1860 and a former Lt., 1st AR Mounted Rifles.
The Major was Enoch N. Floyd, born July 25, 1829, died June 25, 1904. Of Independence County, Former Captain Co. H, 8th AR Infantry.
