Re: Dick Urbaniak-Color bearer at Murfreesboro

Looks like you've outdone yourself with this one Anthony. So the first attack on the Federal right at 6:22 am results in the loss of Ensign Carlile, and the flag is picked up by Corporal Edmonds and then around noon, when McCown attacks Beatty and Shepherd nearer the Federal center, at the Round Forest, Edmonds is wounded in the hand and loses the flag to the 2nd Ohio Infantry and Battery H 5th US Artillery. So, if these two units (2nd Ohio and Battery H) are in this vicinity we have a match....and Cozzen's book, "No Better Place to Die" p.137 puts everybody together at the right time. Wow.

Needless to say, Color Bearer was a very dangerous job to have.
