In Response To: Aug/Sep 1863 - CS Order of Battle (Tom Ezell)
Tom -- great research! You've accounted for all the Arkansas batteries in Price's Division and affiliated commands.
Here's where the other Arkansas batteries (Trans-Mississippi) were --
Etter's Battery with Frost's Division.
West's Battery either in the Indian Territory, or just leaving there en route to Louisiana.
Scott's Battery and Trigg's Battery in parole camp near Washington, Arkansas.
Hughey's Battery was organized in November 1863, after the period you're researching.
The one I can't account for is Hart's Battery. They were captured at Arkansas Post in January 1863, exchanged in April, and drop from sight until 1864 when they show up in the artillery reserve as a four-gun mounted battery.
The batteries had not yet been organized into battalions, and were still assigned individually to infantry and cavalry brigades.
SPECIAL ORDERS,
HEADQUARTERS CHURCHILL'S DIVISION, Numbers 72.
Camp Yell, September 11, 1864.
III. Major Blocher will move to-morrow morning with Captains Marshall's and Etter's batteries, leaving Captain Trigg's battery in its present encampment until further orders.
