The Butler Center for Arkansas Studies has digitized some new Civil War material.

General Mosby M. Parsons's order books
This collection consists of two order books of the 1st Missouri Brigade of Parsons's Division, CSA. One book contains an 8-page history of Parsons's Brigade from the time it was formed in January 1863 until after the Red River Campaign, June 1864. During the period covered by the entries in the books, the brigade was at Three Creeks, Arkansas, and later in Washington, Arkansas. They were written largely by the brigade's assistant inspector general, Lieutenant Jedediah Waldo.

Shoup's Battalion of Artillery letter and order book
This collection consists of the letter and order book for Shoup's Battalion of Artillery,CSA. It contains official copies of orders written between September 1861 and February 1862 by Major Francis A. Shoup, General William J. Hardee, and other officers. They were written at Pitman's Ferry, Arkansas; Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Murfreesboro, Tennessee. They relate to personnel matters, every day camp life, and troop movements.
