Interesting. I have a note in my database that a John L. Allen had applied for a Confederate pension in Alabama, citing service in the 27th Arkansas, but that seemed to conflict with a similar pension application from Sharp County, Arkansas, some 7 years earlier. I always intended to try to solve the puzzle, and I thank you for sharing you excellent research. That's another glitch in my soldier database that I can put to bed.
