Re: Number of Prisioners, by unit, from Longview

Re the 1st Ark Cav, this may be a combination of the various 1sts. On that day, Col Wm Crawford had his 1st Ark with him at the Battle at Mt Elba. I do know there were some of his men captured at Longview who were not with him. He stated he had 175 men at Mt Elba but there could have been a large number left behind, sick, unfit or their horses were unfit or not available. Just find it hard to think he had almost half his regt not with him at the battle, unless there was a reason....train guards etc. was Dobbins around there? I believe Monroe was not there but would have to look. I do believe at least one of his men was there from memory I think being captured there.
