The only thing I Find remotely close is a J M Hale (this was a transcribed list so middle initial could actually be H) in company H 1st (Monroe's) Ark Cav. This COMPaNY was from Benton, AR. Hale died in Crawford Co Dec 26, 1862. This is the only connection with a Hale, Benton, and Crawford Co
