I talked to the person that found it today. I don't think it's a soldier tag. There wasn't a town of Prairie Grove or a Prairie Grove Post Office back then...just a little church, and the addresses would have been Ada Post Office, Sweet Home Post Office, etc., not Prairie Grove, Ark. I went through all of the census records from 1860 to 1940 and the first time anyone close to that comes up is a Clarence B. Phillips in 1940 who live in Cove Creek Township which is the general area this was found. I believe it to be a tag off of some sort of equipment.
