I now understand that the Churhill was placed in command of a corps, consisting of his Arkansas Division and Parson's Missouri Division. Tappan commanded the Arkansas Division in place of Churchill, and Colonel Grindstead commanded Tappan's Brigade in place of Tappan. It appears that Hawthorn's brigade was not with the Arkansas Division at Pleasant Hill.
