How did Gen Govan and the Arkansas troops return to Arkansas after their surrender ? I remember reading somewhere that they went to Chattanooga ( I think ), were placed on a train to Cincinnati, and then on a riverboat to Memphis. The riverboat was accompanied by a gunboat. If this is right, can anyone give me a source ?
