I don't know anything about the men in this unit. I ran across this while doing some research for a friend with an ancestor in King's regiment -- Levi Whitfield "Whit" Thomas from Van Buren and buried in Bartlesville OK.

I did find a listing of the original roster at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~txparker/military/CoF19thCavalry.htm -- and of course the rolls are on Fold3.com. I did note this roster says they enlisted at Weatherford TX but the cards in their CMSR say they enlisted at Veal's Station, about 12 miles northeast of Weatherford, and Saunders' card says enlisted at Dallas, travelling 60 miles -- which is about the distance from Veal's Station.

Thomas A. Saunders is also from Madison Cty -- probably a relative of P.H. Saunders.
