Capt Patrick Henry Saunders was the brother-in-law of Col. King. In July 1862, Col. King's wife wrote to his mother in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. Saunders' company was mustered in at Veal Station, about 12 miles northeast of Weatherford, in March 1862 and became Co. F, 19th Texas Cavalry at Dallas (60 miles east).
My presumption is that after Oak Hills/Wilson's Creek, these families moved to Texas. Saunders resigned due to poor health, rheumatism, in early 1863. Saunders' oldest children were born in Arkansas, then two born in Texas in the 1860s, then five more in Arkansas, then the youngest in California. Saunders is buried in Oregon.
[On a personal note, I was in Piggott for the first time in probably 38 years for my class reunion on 4th of July weekend.]
