Re: 10th Arkansas Militia---Breakdown

Although this was a Johnson County unit, there are some Franklin and Pope County enrollees, and a very few more from further afield. I don't know why the Franklin and Pope Co., men were in the 10th Militia instead of the 7th and 15th Militia. Perhaps they were on the fringes of their counties and Horsehead (where the militia mustered in Feb 1862) was closer than Ozark or Dover.

Wish someone had thought of an 1870 Veterans Census and questionnaire instead of the spotty 1890 record.
