Folks, I got a call from a guy who is trying to find out what happened to his ancestor. His name was James McWha and he lived most likely in the Montgomery County area. He was heading to Fort Smith sometime after the Union returned there in September 1863 to join the Federal army but disappeared. My best guess is that he was bushwhacked. Anyone know anything about this incident?
