I had run across a less descriptive account of this particular engagement in a privately printed book by one of the privates in Clarks Regiment. Supposedly there were seven boats in this convoy and a timberclad gunboat escort involved in this "skirmish".

This adds more depth to the previouss account. And now you see why Arkansas Post was such a threat to Union shipping on the Mississippi.
