Re: Bradley County Troops
In Response To: Bradley County Troops ()

Hey Mark. Lots of Bradley County companies in Confederate service --

Co. B, 2nd Arkansas Battalion Cavalry. [see note]
Co. D, 2nd Arkansas Regiment Cavalry. [see note]
Co. G, 2nd Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. I, 2nd Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. C, 5th Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. B, 6th Arkansas Regiment Cavalry.
Co. D, 9th Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. E, 9th Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. A, 12th Arkansas Regiment Cavalry.
Co. H, 20th Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. D, 24th Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. D, 26th Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. B, Crawford's Battalion Arkansas Infantry.
Capt. Parker's Co. Mounted Volunteers.

The State militia regiment of Bradley County was the 27th Arkansas Regiment Militia, but I can't find anything to indicate that it was ever called to service. Its members served in the various volunteer companies listed above.

No Federal troops were raised in Bradley County.

Note: Co. B, 2nd Arkansas Battalion Cavalry, became Co. D, 2nd Arkansas Regiment Cavalry, when Barnett's and Phifer's cavalry battalions were merged in May 1862. I wasn't sure how you wanted to handle this on the marker.
