Enlisted on 12/15/1863 as a Private.
On 12/15/1863 he mustered into "B" Co. AR 2nd Cavalry

Note, the roster found in this data base list all men as enlisting 12/15/63

3 years or the war, deserted at Rockport September 12, 1863, no further records

Note, he must have been dropped from the Nov/Dec, 1863 muster roll which is missing from the records as he is not recorded on the subsequent surviving Jan/Feb, 1864 muster roll

* This regiment was designated at various times as Newton’s Regiment Arkansas Cavalry, Morgan’s Regiment Arkansas Cavalry, and as 2nd Regiment Arkansas Cavalry, and at the same time it was know as 5th Regiment Arkansas Cavalry and the 8th Regiment Arkansas Cavalry
