You are correct, I just hadn't gone through the compiled service record with a fine tooth comb. I was trying to determine if Alvis would have fought at Elkhorn Tavern. After reading some of "In deadly Earnest" I come to find out that after the battle they travelled to Frog Bayou where they were officially enlisted into confederate service now that Price had been commissioned by confederate congress. So according to Alvis' enlisted on march 15th 1862 at Frog Bayou I would have to say he was at Elkhorn Tavern.
I am a Reenactor and hope to attend the event at pea ridge in September. I am having a jacket made after the "john t. Appler jacket" (who was in the 1st/4th MO) and is the only existing jacket from the Missouri brigade) To try and portray my ancestor.
