Ready for another? On your mark, get set......go!

Nice work on place names everyone.

Here is another.

Clippers Mill........probably Northwest Arkansas. Perhaps in Carroll County, although I hate to prejudice your thinking....

I have " deserted at Clippers Mill 16 May 1864" ----Co. K 2nd Arkansas Cav. (Union)
"deserted at Clippers Mill 16 April 1864" ----- Co. L 2nd Arkansas Cav. (Union)
"deserted at Clippers Mill 19 May 1864"----- Co. K 2nd Arkansas Cav. (Union)

None of them ever reported back or were swept up by provost guard, or were tempted by the President's Proclamation. Two took their government issued horses. Nice move there.

The incredibly strange part......All three of these individuals were sent to Cassville, Missouri for bugler training in late Feb 1864, and had rejoined their companies and assigned to duty as buglers. Did they all go to Memphis to try their luck at one of the blues clubs or just tire of clearing the spit out of the instrument?
