Carter Morris, Island 10, Camp Douglas, Vicksburg

Hi,

I am searching for information on my 2nd great grandfather, Carter Morris. I know he was in the AR 11th, Rough and Ready riflemen. They were at Island 10, surrendered. He was taken POW and sent to Camp Douglas. From there he was exchanged September 4, 1862 at Vicksburg. I am looking for the boat he sailed on from Chicago to Vicksburg and was he exchanged on the steamer John H Done. Pictures would be wonderful. He lived in the Benton, Saline, area, died 1906 in Keyton, near Arkadelphia. I look forward to hearing from y'all. Thank you! Cathy
