I would guess that it was Charles W. Adams' Arkansas Infantry as I've seen that one sometimes called the 3rd and some of the men were from the Carroll County area. It's the regiment that fell apart at Prairie Grove and was disbanded afterwards. The date for Springfield fits, and some of those who stuck around were placed in Harrell's Batt'n.
