James E. Wilson was enlisted in Co. B, 1st Arkansas Battalion Cavalry, at Dover, Arkansas, on June 22, 1861, by Capt. T. J. Linton, and was mustered into Confederate service at Yellville, Arkansas, on August 3, 1861, by Col. T. C. Hindman, for one year. When the 1st Arkansas Battalion became trapped in the surrounded city of Vicksburg, Mississippi, he was cut off from his command and was attached to Co. A, 3rd Missouri Battalion Cavalry, on May 16, 1863. He remained with the 3rd Missouri Battalion until he was transferred to Co. B, 2nd Arkansas Mounted Rifles, per Special Orders No. 6, Adjutant and Inspector-General’s Office, dated January 8, 1864.

James R. Wilson was enlisted in Co. D, Williamson's Battalion Arkansas Cavalry, at Russellville, Arkansas, on February 13, 1862, by Col. A. W. Jones, for one year. Williamson's battalion was broken up and Company D of that command became Co. F, 1st Arkansas Battalion Cavalry, at Camp McIntosh, Corinth, Mississippi, on May 25, 1862. He was wounded and captured at Corinth, Mississippi, on October 4, 1862, and appears on a list of wounded prisoners delivered at Iuka, Mississippi, dated October 19, 1862. He appears on hospital muster rolls of Breckinridge’s Division Hospital, Marion, Mississippi, throughout most of 1863. He was transferred to Co. B, 2nd Arkansas Mounted Rifles, per Special Orders, No. 6, Adjutant and Inspector-General’s Office, dated January 8, 1864.

George H. Wilson was enlisted in Co. A, 2nd Arkansas Mounted Rifles, at Camp McRae, Osage Prairie, Arkansas, on July 18, 1861, by Capt. William Gipson, for one year, and was elected third lieutenant same date. He was promoted to second lieutenant on February 6, 1862. He was not reelected in the regimental reorganization at Camp McIntosh, Corinth, Mississippi, on May 8, 1862, and resigned on May 23, 1862. He later (1863) served as first sergeant of Co. E, Woosley's Battalion Arkansas Cavalry, but unfortunately I have been unable to locate any muster rolls for that command. It was attached to Cabell's cavalry brigade.

Thomas D. Bowen was enlisted in Co. H, 3rd Arkansas Regiment State Troops [aka 1st Arkansas State Cavalry], at Waldron, Arkansas, on May 6, 1861, and was mustered into service at Fort Smith, Arkansas, on May 29, 1861, by Maj. A. H. Cline, for six months. He was discharged at Camp Rector, Elm Springs, Arkansas, on August 30, 1861. He was enlisted in Co. A, 2nd Arkansas Mounted Rifles, at Camp Holloway, near Pineville, Missouri, on October 1, 1861, by Col. J. M. McIntosh, for one year. He deserted at DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, about April 18, 1862, and was dropped from the rolls.

I don't have any information on the prewar service of Maj. James B. Wilson, as my Arkansas soldier database only covers Civil War service.

George H. Wilson and Thomas D. Bowen were Scott County men. James E. and James R. Wilson were both Pope County men.
