Re: Thrall's Arkansas Battery for Danny Odom

The Obit does reference his service after the war:

During the days of Reconstruction Captain Barlow organized a section of artillery and patroled Phillips County, every township furnishing a company of cavalry, serving under Col. Paul Anderson. The result of this movement was to take official affairs of the county out of the hands of the carpetbaggers.

So does anyone have information on this post war Artillery Section that he apparently commanded during Reconstruction? Was this perhaps during the Brooks Baxter War in 1874?

Another document also makes reference to hs service in the Arkansas State Guards:

...since August 22, 1882, has held the position of colonel of the Arkansas State Guards, receiving his appointment from Gov. F. J. Churchill during the political troubles of that year.
