the 4th s of Arkansas

I am working on research about the 4th Arkansas Battalion Infantry and another unit the 4th Arkansas regiment of infantry. I know they started out as separate units but were consolidated east of the Mississippi.
Here are a few questions. Company A of the 4th battalion were called the Bayou Metre Hornets and also the Turnbull guards. There was a militia unit in Gray TWP Does any one know if this group went to Fort Smith when they thought they were going to have to use force to take the fort in the beginning. Also there was a camp beauregard in central Arkansas when some companies of the 4th battalion camped until all five companies were organized and left in December for Columbus, KY. Any info would be helpful especially about the Bayou Metre Hornets/ Turnbull Guards and what militia activies they were in.
