My wife has a 3rdgreat grandfather named William Martin Nichols. I just started researching my wifes ancestors for confederates and am not sure the following information is correct (that ist is the same William Martin Nichols) but the information that I received is that he was born in Marion (County?), Tennessee on 20 Sep 1837 and on 1 November 1863 joined Company K Arkansas 2nd Cavalry (Union). I dont know if the above is correct or who is parents are but my wife's ancestor died 21 January 1913 in Mt Judea Arkansas.
