Thomas Gray, age 33, Private, Captain Goodrum’s Company, Pleasants’ Regiment, Arkansas Infantry,* enlisted into State Service May 16, 1862 for six months, enlisted June 5, 1862 at Camp Hindman by Wm. Goodrum for 3 years, recorded on the June 30, 1862 muster roll [1st Trans-Mississippi Infantry] as absent, on extra duty, Carpenter, subsequently recorded as detached as Mech. June 21 to July 2, 1862 and detached as Mech. July 28, died August 28, 1862, no amplifying information

* This company subsequently became Company K, 37th Regiment Arkansas Infantry
The regiment was designated at various times as 1st Regiment Trans-Mississippi Infantry, Pleasants’ Regiment Arkansas Infantry, and Bell’s Regiment Arkansas Infantry; and at the same time it was also known as 1st Regiment Arkansas Infantry, 29th Regiment Arkansas Infantry and 37th Regiment Arkansas Infantry
