Not sure what they were armed with but I feel they may be responsible for the execution of about 20 or so surrendered/captured Confederates at the skirmish at Hurricane Creek out of Logan's/Poe's 11th Ark Cav. Big discrepancy in numbers reported captured and killed on reports that point to this. Add to the fact that some of the 9th Kansas had already murdered some innocent civilians after the Lawrence raid for providing food to Quantrill's men, I would say they still had it in them to commit these crimes. COL Logan reported this and stated he knew the unit that did it, but he failed to mention it in his report up the chain.
