Gray Township troops

On July 6, 1861, a barbacue and flag presentation was held in Gray Township in Pulaski County (pretty much present-day Jacksonville) that featured the Gray Township home guard (possibly called the Gray Township Guards) and a Captain Benett's company of militia. I am trying to find out if the Guards or Bennett's company entered Confederate service, and if so, as what and where. Thanks for any assistance!
