Tracked down the G.J.Riley who was with J. Riley and were in Viviens Cavalry.

Vivian's Cav. was 12th Missouri Cavalry not Mississippi. The last name may not be Riley after all because later letter says they were in the 24 th TX Granbury's Consolidated Cav. Dismounted. This was a remnant that was exchanged or escaped to East of the Miss. They joined Braggs Army at Tullahoma, fought at Chickamauga as 24/25th TX. Fought in the Atlanta Campaign. Now I'm not sure of the last name so I'm stuck. Looking for George _______? and Jack or Jackson_______? 24th TX Cav. Don't know what happened to them after Feb. 1863. Only their regiment was near Atlanta in June-July 1864. The man "brother John" who reported that they were captured at Arkansas Post could have been q brother-in-law of E. M. Riley of Co. A 39th Miss. Need to do some more Genealogy work.
