While researching unit strengths in preparation of the Price Raid I could not but help noticing the large number of desertions of various regiments shortly after the fall of Little Rock in September of 63. In some cases literally whole companies are listed as deserters. I am interested in what became of these men, did they return to duty, or did they simply go home? In some cases I noted that these desertions included family's of brothers, cousins and etc. The CSR's are unclear about a number of these regiments and I would like a better understanding and interpretation.
