Little Rock [Arkansas] July 5th [1862] Genl. A. [Albert] Rust, Des Arc, Genl [Thomas] Hindman knows nothing of Worthington. Suppose him to be a spy. I judge from your dispatches that you yet have Hart's four guns with you though you have sent his and browns companies to Devals [DeVall's] Bluff. Let me know at once if Hart took the guns to Devals Bluff. I must send Pratt there to get them He will be of no use to you without the guns. Genl. Hindman's dispatch sent you just now says Pratt was ordered to Devals Bluff. This was written under the impression that you had sent the guns there. Let me know without delay where the guns are. Pratts present orders are to go to Des Arc. If you have sent the guns off I will change the destination so that he can get the guns, and then join you at once. R. [Robert] C. Newton A.A. Genl. Little Rock [Arkansas] July 5th 1862 Genl. A. [Albert] Rust, Des Arc Where is Hart with guns? Has brown gone to Devals [DeVall's] Bluff? We have here under Capt Pratt a full artillery company with splendid horse but without guns. If Harts four guns are at Des Arc I can send Pratt to you at once to man them, and let Hart return to Devals Bluff and take charge of his old Battery with both his own and browns men.
