I don't have any hard evidence of this, but I believe that Capt. Quick's Company from Pike County became Company "K" of Portlock's 24th Arkansas Infantry. However since we have no record of a Capt. Quick, or a muster of his companys muster to correlate between that and Company "K", I don't know that we can possitivily make such a connection.

I believe that these two Companies were the "Extra" companies of Dawson's 19th Arkansas mentioned in the Hindman Telegraphs which were to be combined with "extra" companies raised by Col Grinstead, along with Whitington's Battalion to form Portlock's 24th Arkansas.

However I am not sure if the "Extra" companies associated to Grinstead's Regiment was not referring to Lt Col Whittngton's Battalion and not some other independent organizations.
