Surgeon/1st Lt. William Wallace Hipolite of the 113 US Colored Troops was stationed at DuValls Bluff during and after the war. His complete dress uniform, that is in excellent condition was on the TV show, Antique Roadshow about a year ago. He was a doctor in DuValls Bluff after the war and died there in 1918.
