THis is great, I wrote the regimental history on the 11th Arkansas and know about McDuff Vance. I have a photo that I think was given to me and stated to be McDuff Vance but some of his local Saline Co kin have a later photo and they resemble but may not be the same. Do you have contact with the folks here in Ark that are the Vance kin? I can get you in touch with them if necessary. Glad you are getting him a stone, he was actually the LT Col of the regiment after it was consolidated and commanded it when the Colonel was commanding the brigade.
