Re: Etter's Battery at Jenkins Ferry?

Were any Arkansas batteries engaged at Jenkins' Ferry? I know Ruffner's and Lesueur's Missouri batteries were engaged albeit only for a short time. Lesueur's battery became mired in the mud and was withdrawn after firing only a few rounds from his two 6 pdrs (the two 12 pdrs were not engaged). Lockhart's section of Ruffner's battery was overrun by the 2nd Kansas Colored Infantry and the 29th Iowa. Ruffner's other section withdrew about the same time as Lesueur's. (Lockhart apparently didn't receive the order to withdraw in time.) One of the batteries attached to Marmaduke's Missouri cavalry was involved in some of the early morning action at Jenkins' Ferry. I don't believe any artillery from Walker's Texas Division made it onto the field either. As most of the participants on this message board know, the battle of Jenkins' Ferry was fought primarily with small arms.
