Drew, it's not a transcription error, so much as a clerk's reporting error. The 4th Arkansas Infantry was not engaged at Arkansas Post. It was engaged at Murfreesboro, Tennessee, at that time. There was no W. D. Stewart in the Bright Star Rifles. There is no prisoner of war record other than the report of his death and disposition of his possessions (of which there were none). This record clearly belongs to someone other than W. D. Stewart, 4th Arkansas Infantry. We can't tell, without doing some research, just who the man might be.
